Females"Ruby" - FC Odyssey's Boxa Rise'Ann Shine
A daughter of GSPCA Field Sire of the Year (2008) FC Keg Creek Rising Cooper and DC/AFC Odyssey's Ein Anfang Fur JJ. Ruby is an exciting gundog and wild bird dog with experience on prairie grouse, huns, sharptails, woodcock and quail. She is an intense, hard charging bird finder that is at home running from horseback and is biddable to stay with you on foot.
Ruby has attained her AKC Field Championship in three field trials as a gundog, amateur handled. She is now working on her Amateur Field Championship title and will enjoy wild bird hunting in the fall. We thank Jon and Cindy Hann of Perfection Kennel for their expert training of Ruby.
"Briar" - FC/AFC Bryson's Boxa Briarpatch Baby SH
A daughter of GSPCA Gun Dog of the Year (2000) DC/AFC Sam Saint Max MH BISS, and Bryson's Box-A Babe Ruth, my personal hunting dog. Briar is a nice gundog and a great wild bird dog, she has bird finding ability, 100% natural retrieve, and is an outstanding specimen of the breed.
Briar has attained her AKC Field Championship and Amateur Field Championship, Senior Hunter Title in five straight passes and received a Judges' Award of Merit at the 2008 GSPCA National Amateur Gundog Championship. She is now working on her Master Hunter title and will enjoy wild bird hunting in the fall. We are excited to see her contributions to our breeding program and look forward to enjoying her in the field and in competition.
"Lindy" - FC/AFC Bryson's Boxa Lucky St. Lindy SH
A daughter of GSPCA Gun Dog of the Year (2000) DC/AFC Sam Saint Max MH BISS, and Bryson's Box-A Babe Ruth, my personal hunting dog. Lindy is a flashy and fast moving gundog with style to spare; she has natural retrieve and honor, we look forward to incorporating these traits into our breeding program.
Lindy has attained her AKC Field Championship, Amateur Field Championship, Senior Hunter Title in five straight passes and has points toward her Show Championship, and was ranked in the Top 20 Amateur Gundogs in the Nation in 2008 (GSP Chronicle - Final 2008 Amateur Gundog Standings by Ranking Points). Lindy will be a strong member of the wild bird hunting string this fall. We are excited to see her continue to excel in the field and in competition.
"Babe" - Bryson's Boxa Babe Ruth (2000-2010)
Babe is a once in a lifetime hunting companion and the foundation of my breeding program.
"Dolly" - Bryson's Boxa First Lady
Dolly is a product of the 'Presidential Litter' born the week of the 4th of July 2013, my daughter Grace suggested we name them after presidents and first ladies. Dolly is a nice young gundog who went to her first field trial with a handler she had never met and placed first in a puppy stake.
She is a very natural gundog and is out of FC/ AFC Odyssey's Boxa Rise'Ann Shine, sired by our own DC/AFC Bryson's Boxa Wendell W. Woodbriar. She is all birddog and was trained steady to wing and shot by 18 months of age by Perfection Kennels. In addition to her field work, Dolly will be campaigned in the show ring by Erin Hall in an effort to achieve her Dual Championship
Males"Mac" - Bryson's Boxa Big Mac
Mac is a littermate brother to Babe. He is a hard-working and hard-charging hunting dog. The definition of a "meat-dog", Mac has successfully hunted many species of upland game.
"Tick" - Bryson's Boxa Briarpatch Woodticks
Tick is the pick of the litter from our 2005 breeding of Briar to Odyssey's Woodford Orion SH (a son of DC Odyssey's Saint Blitz MH). Tick has as much natural ability as I've seen in a pup. He combines this with a gentle personality, intelligence and an attitude that is willing and able to please. He is becoming an outstanding hunting companion.
"Wendell" - DC/AFC Bryson's Boxa Wendell W. Woodbriar JH
We never intended to keep Wendell. He was the last puppy left out of our 2005 breeding of Briar to Odyssey's Woodford Orion SH (a son of DC Odyssey's Saint Blitz MH). When I came home from a pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota, he was curled up in my overstuffed chair and my then three year old daughter had named him. I kept trying to find him a home, taking him to dog shows and junior hunting tests thinking he'd find a good home. But when people would call, my daughter would shout "Wendell is not for sale!"
I have never shown a dog before, and I easily put some show points on him, and he finished his show championship handled to a five point major by Erin Hall. With very little bird exposure, Wendell passed his Junior Hunter with 4 straight passes, and tagged along to some field trials that spring where he placed in nearly every Puppy/Derby stake he ran. That fall we went hunting and he really began to shine, tagging TX quail, KS pheasants, IA pheasants and quail, and of course MO quail. Steadied to wing and shot by Jon Hann of Perfection Kennels, Wendell is a nice going gundog that finished his field championship in three field trials as a gundog, and proceeded to finish his AFC the same fall. Wendell will work toward his MH and continue to be campaigned in some limited and national events.
"Clay" - Red River's Boxa Southern Clay
For those of you who have not noticed, Clay isn't a GSP. He is a Vizsla, from Holly Hatfield at Red River Vizslas in Louisville, KY. After tragically losing a promising young female and 8 of her 9 puppies, Holly heroically stepped in and raised the surviving GSP puppy with her beautiful Dual Champion "Potter" aka DC/AFC Red River's Southern Harmony SH VC and the rest of her litter of Vizslas sired by 3xNGDC 2xNAFC NVA NFC MVSDC DC AFC Crimson's Twenty Gauge Ruger SH CGC.
Since we bred the litter of GSP's in order to have a nice young dog to start, we were honored when Holly asked us to consider bringing Clay to our home, he has done very well winning Derby and puppy stakes handled by my daughter and is now beginning to show his abilities in Gundog stakes, collecting his first adult placement prior to his third birthday, after being expertly trained by Perfection Kennels.
